AI automation for Carinthian businesses, measured against your order handling
Not every recurring task needs a language model, some just need a clean form. Here are the four most common use cases for small businesses in Klagenfurt and the rest of Carinthia, with real time savings and a real price instead of marketing language.

One sentence to set expectations
If a quote talks more about neural architectures than about your order handling, it is going to get expensive. A language model is a tool for a specific task, not a business model in its own right. What follows are four tasks where the effort demonstrably pays off, with their actual cost range.
In 65 seconds: how an automation works
Video summary in English
The same data is typed by hand into several programs every day. With an automation, an incoming inquiry is sorted, a draft quote is prepared, and you review and approve it before anything goes out. Data moves between your programs without retyping. The Klarwerk demo uses sample data to show an assistant answering “Which invoices are overdue?”. Automation from €2,200, fixed price before the project starts, maintenance from €49 per month. Funding possible through KWF Umsetzung.KI (as of October 2026). The processes shown are examples, not customer results.
Four use cases that genuinely pay off for an SME in Klagenfurt and Carinthia
Sorting inquiries
An assistant reads incoming inquiries from a form or inbox, identifies the request and assigns it to a category or person before anyone even opens the message.
With ten to twenty inquiries a week, this typically saves thirty minutes to an hour of screening time.
AI assistant for your websiteDrafting quotes
Recurring line items, quantities and prices from an inquiry are transferred into a prepared quote template; you still check it yourself.
Turns a standard quote that would otherwise take twenty to thirty minutes to type up into a short review.
Custom software and automationAppointment booking
Customers book an open slot directly online, and the assistant answers questions about directions, duration or paperwork from your real information.
Largely removes callback rounds for scheduling, especially outside business hours.
AI assistant for your websiteDocument automation
Invoices, delivery notes or forms are generated automatically from recurring data, or read out of incoming documents, instead of being typed up by hand.
Usually cuts manual data entry on recurring paperwork to a fraction of the previous time.
Agent systems with a database
Examples in practice
Examples, not client projects. Each case describes a task of the kind Carinthian businesses actually have, and what an implementation changes about it. Documented work is listed under Work, with names and figures.
| Industry | Problem | Solution | Outcome |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trades | Inquiries from the form, the inbox and the phone sit unsorted in one mailbox. | An assistant assigns each inquiry to a category and asks the missing question straight away. | The morning triage disappears, and unclear cases still go to a person. |
| Retail | The same questions about opening hours, availability and collection keep staff on the phone. | An assistant on the website that answers from your real information and hands over to the form otherwise. | Recurring questions run without a call, and open cases still arrive in writing. |
| Medical practice | Appointments are given out by phone, and callbacks pile up over the day. | Online booking with an assistant that answers questions about duration, directions and paperwork. | Appointments also happen outside opening hours, and callbacks stay the exception. |
| Tourism | Guests write in German and English, mostly in the evening after closing time. | A bilingual assistant built from your own content, handing over to the contact form. | Answers are there immediately in both languages, from your own information rather than the open internet. |
What it costs, with no need to ask
Custom software and automation, for example for drafting quotes or document automation, starts at €2,200 as a one-off, depending on how deeply it connects to your existing systems.
An AI assistant for sorting inquiries or answering appointment questions starts at €2,900 one-off plus €79 per month for operation and model costs; the business tier with system integration starts at €4,400 plus €149 per month.
An agent system that links several of these tasks and keeps its own database starts at €4,900. All amounts are net as a small business, and the full scope of each package is listed on its own service page.
No VAT is charged, small business exemption under § 6 Abs 1 Z 27 UStG (Austrian VAT Act).
Data protection
Inputs run through a data processor under a contract per Art 28 GDPR and are not used to train third-party models. The service in use is named in your privacy policy, together with its legal basis and retention period. On request, an agent system can run entirely on infrastructure inside the EU.
Questions about AI automation
Do I need technical knowledge for this?
No. You describe the process that currently happens manually, and I build the automation around it. Afterwards it runs through the tools you already use, such as email or a simple form.
What happens if the AI classifies an inquiry wrongly?
Every automation gets a fallback path: whatever cannot be assigned with confidence goes to a person instead of the wrong folder. Misclassifications become visible in operation and can be corrected.
Is this worth it for a small business already?
Usually yes from around ten recurring inquiries or documents a week, rarely below that. In the first call I work through the actual case volume with you before any quote is written.
What is genuine hype and what actually works?
Works: clearly scoped, recurring tasks with a checkable result, like the four above. Hype: an assistant meant to automate "everything" without a single task being precisely defined. Projects like that rarely stay within a fixed cost range.
Is there funding for AI automation in Carinthia in 2026?
Yes, the KWF funds projects in which a specific AI use case is worked out, tested and introduced through its “Umsetzung.KI” programme: a 30 % grant, at most €10,000, for eligible project costs from €10,000. Applications are possible until 31 December 2026 and must be filed before the project starts. Smaller automations fall below that threshold, and KMU.DIGITAL is exhausted for 2026. Whether your project fits is something I clarify with you and the KWF before the quote.
